Valletta: The European Capital of Culture for 2018

The Valletta 18 Foundation was established with the intent of creating and managing this extremely interesting year-long calendar of events, undoubtedly making it one of the best times to visit Malta.

A couple of highlights this year include:

• Carnival (9th – 13th February)
• Malta Fashion Week   (14th – 21st May)
• Malta International Arts Festival (1st – 16th July)
• Malta Jazz Festival (16th – 21st July)
• Opera Spagna – AIDA (in cooperation with Leeuwarden, The Netherlands, also Capital of Culture in 2018) (11th – 15th September)

This yearly prestigious event has been designed to highlight the colourful cultural diversity shared across Europe, whilst celebrating shared cultural features. Apart from that, this initiative promotes a sense of awareness in common cultural areas across Europe whilst supporting the contribution of culture and the development of cities.
